I think the only time I ever did a midnight release was when Smash Ultimate came out; I had someone tell me they were doing a midnight release, and I went "fuck it I've got nothing else to do right now". Was neat but I mostly did it because it happened to be convenient for me.

Maybe after Christmas. Or I'll emulate it way later on FOR FREE because Nintendo has officially lost their charm. There are some other things I might rather put money towards. I already know this remake doesn't really do the original justice. The original is my favorite game and they absolutely did not get the art right in this and even chickened out on making it rated T, which the original barely skipped out on because the graphics aren't detailed. Even the soundtrack takes too many "artistic liberties" when that was never needed because the original was midi music and a 100% strictly faithful reproduction with real instruments was actually wanted. Guess I have to wait another 15-20 years to see if Nintendo grows some integrity and remakes it properly after the clearly expired and toothless Miyamoto and Aonuma have died.
I know early reviews are in, but they're all nostalgiafagging and bandwagoning because OoT has a bad reputation of being the default favorite game of NPCs who don't actually understand the game, and the actual score of the game is likely more around 85 if you look at it objectively. Very good, but only because it's built on an extremely good game. It does not actually capture the soul and charm of the original. In fact I'd say it's less faithful than the 3DS remaster despite all the Redditor soyboys who cry about dungeons being too bright (the dungeons are usually too bright in this remake too).
