Thoughts on sonic frontiers?
the game is slow normal sonic stages with boost and stuff, nothing new apart from being a little slower. and the open world is a ubislop collectathon with sonic instead of whatever ubisoft games are protagonized by. It was clearly made by comitee because breath of the wild made a lot of money and I want some of it. Imitating that game has been destroying all nintendo releases since, son it's a shame the idea got out.
It has excellent sound engineering and music on both parts. Its ui design is too flat and boring. And it's graphics would be good if it were not beause of the pop-in.
Its visual design is pretty good aswell and it has that epic esotheric vibe pretty well nailed. There are very good sceneic landscapes and you really get the feeling you are moving towards this hyper advanced extinct civilization. Even if you dont know what the game is about, is interesting to move around. The enemies also fit into this although the fight system isn't that interesting.
Its plot is ambiguous and kinda confusing. It reminds me of halo in that you are exploring this ancient but hyper advanced remnant of people long gone. And the personal story of every character is meh and i didnt care about it.
Interesting for a kid's platformer, but deeply mid.
Grant fosgate loved it.
