>>75482I've never even got to iron before, I always end up getting pulled away by some other game for weeks/months around the first winter because winter sucks. When I get back I've usually forgotten what I was doing and resultantly lack direction and goals. Then I end up starting over on a new world.
Personally I find having something to build is good to stave that off, especially because I'm picky about materials and have to travel and explore to get what I need. I've given myself a bigger than usual base to build and it's been keeping my attention well so far; it isn't even half done and I'm more pleased with it than anything else I've built in this game. I hadn't tried VS Roofing before this server added it and I'm liking it a lot.

How do seasons work on the server? If I do not have the resources to survive a winter that came earlier than expected due to other players being on the server when I was offline do I just need to wait it out before I can play again?

>>76011Seasons work as normal, time passes when phonos are online. We do have a mod that stops food from spoiling in your inventory while you're offline. There aren't many regulars playing on here though so time usually doesn't pass too quickly. Personally I try to avoid playing if no one else is on but can't speak for others.
If you were to end up in that situation I'd expect other players would be willing to share but might not have enough to feed two for the whole cold season. Alternatively you could try moving south to wait it out where it's warmer like a swallow o algo. Either way you would probably only have to do that for your first winter since after that you should be able to farm enough to keep yourself fed through the next.
