This is the part that always confuses me. You can look at the achievements of every single game to see it's true. People will buy deluxe editions of games, or even just preorder standard editions months in advance, but something as simple as getting past the first third of the game is only completed by like 20-40% of the people who have ever played it. Normalfags don't buy games to play them, they buy them and use them as social status symbols. A financial transaction to say "I fit in!". 4chan's /v/ was completely dominated by this type of person a very long time ago. And you can tell because you can see them talk about a game you've completed and played a lot, and they're so far from the truth and get so many details wrong, you know for a fact they only watched someone livestream the game (or way back they watched Let's Plays).

But this whole social transaction, performative psudo-gamer lifestyle makes no sense to me. It's all fake and a genuine waste of time for them. People need to learn how to be real again, and the mental illnesses will reduce.

This is why I don't get the hype around GTA6
I bought a PS3 like 6 months ago and have been pirating some games on it, and buying any that are cheap. I played some GTA IV and its good, and I'll play GTAV when I'm done with that just to see it. But its going to cost me like £3 for a physical copy, its cheaper than a coffee. If it wasn't for the story aspect in these games I wouldn't even bother. If niggers just want to play their nigger gangsta simulator where they drive around and shoot people in the street, why do they need the latest version?

Like you say people don't even play like 5 hours into the game to get the basic achievements, so its clearly not the story. With GTA they might play longer but just ignore the story. Why even bother buying the latest one at that point? You can do the same shit in the old game you already have.
