Its a great game. One of my first games, been playing it since I was 6 years old. A lot of the most recent things have been getting worse and worse doe, like all the heckin trans affirming additions.
They could have stopped updates at whichever one added the most recent boss, it was either the Empress of Light or Queen Slime. The game was in a very good state then and they've not added much of interest since.
If youve gotten bored of the vanilla game the mods are pretty solid as well, idk what happened to calamity recently but i never liked its bossfights being bullet hells. Theres other interesting ones to play

A neighborhood friend introduced it to me 13 years ago and I liked it for about two days. I was more into Xbox 360 and Club Penguin at the time so I just dropped it. Every time somebody tries to get me into Terraria since then, it's always felt like a shitty 2D version of Minecraft. I know Terraria has plenty of differences and that's an unfair comparison, but it's like those top down early GTA games to me. The gameplay style just does not work with that perspective. It feels forced.
