Whats insane is that I used to be terrible at games. I couldn't beat the wall of flesh in terraria until I was like 13. But I never felt any major difficulty with pikmin 2. Only thing that ever had me feeling "stuck" was when I couldn't figure out a puzzle or how to get an item, definitely not the combat in the caves.

Pikmin 3 in comparison is an absolute baby game. Its mechanically sound but there is no difficulty whatsoever until the final boss, and that just takes a try or two.
