I agree. I was ready for fallout 2 to end way sooner than i was for fallout 1. There is a point in which too many places and too many quests get boring, especially if there is very little reward.
Having said that, i think both fallout 1 and 2 are awful games, 1 is just the least bad.

Too many references in 2, plus im not in-favor of f2's tone-shift. Furthermore, 2 is a broken mess and i had to spend an hour fixing the framerate bug that'd crash your game.dont get me started on its painful start, either. The only thing f2 did better was adding the chrysalis
