Consumers aren't buying (you can tell because it's never out of stock) but the companies that actually manufacture the chips don't care because AI companies are buying manufacturing output it at even higher costs and in larger quantities. But the bubble will pop as more people realize AI is nowhere near as capable as its advertised to be. It's basically a huge scam. Models will become more efficient, though not much more capable, and hardware requirements will go down. AI fags keep saying AGI is 2 weeks away, but offer literally nothing convincing.
GPUs are still in the same situation. The pricing is outrageous, but everything is still in stock. The funny thing about GPUs is that consumer models are very different from data center stuff. Sure, silicon production capacity is eaten up by it, but consumer models aren't moving many units. If this wasn't simple price gouging, and was instead true supply and demand issues, most models would be sold out all the time like during the crypto mining fad when some regular joe could make passive income. You can't do that anymore unless you get electricity for free, so they sit on shelves.
