It's a civil war game where you choose whether to play as confederates or unionists and fight until the end of the war and have to fight for states. There's a bunch more to it. It's half map game, but also half idk what you'd call it, skirmish battle thing, where you control soldiers on the field and have them fight, a bit clunky but cool. That being said, iirc the NES port isn't amazing. Supposedly the Amiga version was the best.
