I buy games from GOG in part because in order to have full ownership over a product you must have a legal title to your property. Piracy allows for essentially de facto ownership in the use of a video game, but just as something you acquired illegally from someone else cannot give you full rightful ownership of it, so does piracy not allow for full ownership of a game.
