>>62006 (OP)Not really. Is not a good game. It took me years to admit that.
Most of the characters are just a worse version of jacket and the focus on very big stages with enemies with weapons you can't see before they shoot you makes it very irritating. The uselessness of meelee weapons and the slow executions make most of the core gameplay not worth engaging if you want high combos aswell. And most of the annoying things hl1 had still stand in this one, such as enemies that dont react to your presence until it's too late, a confusing hitbox when you are too close to one, and the crazy dog pathfinding.
It also looks really bad when compared to hl1, with flat and boring floor textures, the amount of white and grey floors is too high.
Music is good although not as memorable as hl1. Music on levels such as ambush or into the pit are very boring and lame.
The story it tries to tell will be confusing on a first run and the constant changes on characters will get stale before even the first half, you will either have to play it many times to get it or watch some essayslop explaining it. I would recommend the second option as i dont think the game is worth playing.
The level editor is victim of bad designs by its community: most levels commit the same mistakes the base game does on a larger scale, making the experience worse or marginally better than the base game. I recommend Blessed Redux, it's the best campaign i have played there.
