I tried it ages ago with a friend. It was mechanically neat, but it was a lot to get into at the time so I didn't stick with it.

SNCA 40k knockoff orbited by troons who will never play it. The story is just a bunch of shizobabble that you only get from random npcs vagueposting between missions, and in the secret ending, it essentially boils down to Silent Hill 2 but James is a space marine. You also have to grind for a thrembillion hours to get your stats high enough to use any of the cool powers despite the fact that I beat it 4 times in 23 hours. 99% of the weapons are outright useless or become obsolete once you get the bearkiller, and one of the starting assault rifles can carry you through most or all of the game. Beyond that, Rimanah doesn’t even wear the unique skull armor he has on the cover. Honestly, I think the only reason most people like it is that they’ve only seen and heard about it, and it’s a lot better in concept than in execution. I’d go so far as to say it unintentionally laid the groundwork for “le dogshit le good” troonslop like Cruelty Squad
