Is there any bigger scam than gaming laptops?
>At least double the price for half the performance or less when compared to a desktop
>Can barely play anything from the year its released and becomes obsolete only 1 or 2 years after release
>Hot as fuck, you burn your hands in the keyboard
>Battery lasts 20 minutes or performance drops to celeron levels if you want long life
>Arent even portable, you wouldnt take it to college or something like that
Something like the steam deck is still a better purchase bc they are cheaper and way more portable than one of these pieces of shit, a switch is still undefeated on handheld gaming.
Have fun with 4 cores in the big '26.

I use a gaming laptop and it fucking sucks, it thermal throttles like HELL, I have to have it constantly plugged in overwise the preformance is RAPED
at least it can run pre-2019 Call of Duty games

Is the steam deck good?

a lot of people take them to college doe

I had one for a few years before I was able to get an actual desktop rig. I wouldn't ever get one again, but it was decent for what it was.

Gaming laptops have only even been good as supplementary to your desktop gaymen PeeSee. Meaning you get to play older 4+ year old games in your library, or current games at potato settings for when you're actually away from home and doing nothing for a few hours. If your primary or only platform is a gaming laptop or handheld, you're getting a pretty crap experience.

trve, PCs are supposed to be used for heavy games. laptops are for work, browsing and maybe gemmy old games when you're bored, but you can play some on phono. consoles are goyslop imo

Do you need a gaming laptop for that? Im pretty sure a celeron is enough for it. I use a shitty chromebook to play snes and neo geo.

Stop buying shit brands like Asus

Is there any real difference? i put an asus photo bc it was the first result when you type gaming laptop and search images.
I had a lenovo one many years ago, y500 if i'm not mistaken, and it was also terrible. Really hot, bad touchpad, massive keyboard ghosting, nvidia optimus forced you to windows (this is the cause of the torvalds video soyraging and saying fuck you to nvidia), the batterly lasted 20 minutes and the speakers deteriorated in a year and started sounding terrible, which is ironic bc it had a JBL partership.
It was also impossible to upgrade cpu or gpu, which is bad but all laptops are like that since around 2012, don't forget they took that power away from us. You want a better gpu? buy an entire motherboard or a new laptop.

>many years ago
Yes, gaming laptops were absolutely dogshit 5-10 years ago but now they're pretty decent for the price (Especially in Europe where a similar powered PC would cost 1k+)
Nvidia cards work well with Linux nowadays too
>You want a better gpu? buy an entire motherboard or a new laptop.
Not really a problem anymore, technology has largely stagnated and games are becoming less demanding because the average consumer does not have the money for a high-end setup (And all of the high-demanding games are triple-A wokeslop that basically all flop anyways, when GTAVI comes to PC I'm pretty sure Rockstar will optimize it to work on 4gigs of Vram because they'd be leaving out a lot of people who'd buy sharkcards)

Rich kid shit

Most laptops and ready built desktops are scams with poor specs and end of life components designed to rob tech illiterates out of their money. Then the manufacturers be like "oh no why is Apple market share keep increasing???"

My current PC is a prebuilt with a few upgrades, but that's mostly because my old rig died unexpectedly and I just needed a new PC ASAP. Basically everything in it was an upgrade from the old rig doe, so it worked out.
