SCP: Secret Laboratory is abysmal dogshit, and I'm tired of acting like it's not.
I'm sick of seeing jewtubers and Reddit-dwelling cucks suck and fuck the cocks of the degenerates and kikes at Northwood, pretending that SCP: SL is of any substance at this stage (it's not).
This game has 3 core issues:
1. No tutorial
2. Bad performance
3. Waiting
1. speaks for itself. This game has absolutely 0 onboarding for new players. The 'Operational Guide' doesn't count. It's just lore. This game is insanely complex and confusing for new players, and especially for those that aren't already invested into SCP as a whole. They bumble into a server full of screaming (man)children and have no idea what they're doing. It's very unlikely a new player will tough out their first few hours familiarizing themselves with the game.
As for 2., SCP: SL is easily in the hall of fame of video games with poor performance optimization. It's in the top 100 most dogshit running games of all time, at least. If you're running a Ryzen CPU or anything that isn't top performing hardware, good fucking luck getting above 60 FPS.
3. is easily the worst offender, in my opinion, and it speaks to a much larger issue that is the way this game is structured in general. If you didn't already know, SCP: SL is based on SCP: Containment Breach, a singleplayer horror game, which, to spare you the details, doesn't translate well to a class-based first-person shooter clusterfuck. In any given round of Secret Lab, you're spending several minutes doing fuck all, just spectating, watching others have fun while you get to do nothing.
I could go on for even longer about why this game sucks dick, but that just about sums up everything important. I know this is SNCA, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. I wish this game was good, because the concept is fantastic, and there are some nuggets of worthwhile gameplay sprinkled within, but it's simply not. I keep coming back, thinking somehow I'm gonna love the game as I once did, but I'm immediately reminded why I left in the first place. Northwood is more interested in reworking every facet of the game then actually delivering meaningful improvements, and it shows.

>>59714I honestly wouldn't care about the game looking like shit if it didn't play as such. v14.0 was the final nail in the coffin for this pathetic joke of a game. The Steam Charts lie. Anyone who was originally interested in this game has officially been alienated via Northwood's incessant reworks of core mechanics, visual direction, and introduction of furry fetish bait, among other things. The old community goodwill surrounding SCP: SL has fucked off for greener pastures, and has been replaced by retard after faggot after Gen Alpha.

>>59729august 2021 was the best time of my life.
i played it on some modded server 24/7 and it was just so fun. i think thats the only multiplayer game i ever really adored. since 12.0(one might say scopophobia or even megapatches, but i simply didnt catch them) polACKs kept killing it, till it got into its present state. i played it a bit in this November and it still has some vibes, but thats really not the same goofy game you can just hop on anytime and have fun.
the older i get more i realise that letting go is probably the most important skill, at least for someone like me. a lot of things like this gnaws at me - resentment of sorts - and the more i lean to stuff i have no control on, the worse it gets.

>>59734The only reason Northwood gets a pass for handling SCP: SL like this is because "muh free indie game." Also because it fills a specific niche and has yet to have serious competition, so players are more inclined to deal with its bullshit and cope.
Imagine if VALVe did some shit like this. Imagine if VALVe, for any of their products, started delivering overhaul after overhaul, eventually turning it into a different product entirely, with no regard for the userbase's sake. They would get annihilated. The bitching and moaning would be en masse. It would be awesome to see.
But nope, we don't get any of those vehement criticisms for SCP: SL. Maybe the occasional trvth nuke from a YouTuber, but that's about it. Also, said trvke is met with huge amounts of backlash because toxic positivity exists.
