>>58591The issue here is that the hardware isn't worth what they cost, even in the steam deck. The profit margins must be huge, and the fact that you can't play 2 player out the box (no, playing with one joycon each doesn't fucking count, nigga) is pathetic for nintendo, the famously family oriented console.
>>58629>>58623They did this with the GBA and DS too. Theres no way they looked at the launch GBA, with no backlight in fucking 2001, and thought that was good. The fucking atari lynx from 1989 had one. It was obviously so that they could make another model, the SP, and charge some retards twice for the same console. THOUGHbeit at least the console hardware was solid otherwise, the SP is a magnificent handheld with good buttons and a great hinge too.
Theres also no way they looked at the utilitarian brick of the original DS and thought it was good. Dim screen, weak hinges, disgusting look. They make the lite version which people actually bought, but make sure to not add internet access, so they can put that into the DSi and sell that to the goys who want their online gamerinos and a shit camera, but they can't play GBA on it, so buy a DS lite too, goy, all your shekels belong to us.
Nintendo was excusable before because at least the price was cheaper than their competitors by a good margin. The Wii cost 50$ less than the cheapest Xbox 360, had original games and a gimmick, and people generally weren't buying the cheapest 360 model anyway. The DS cost 150$ when the PSP cost 250$. For children, it was a lot easier to ask your parents to drop 200$ on a Wii than 600$ on a PS3. Now its so expensive that cacas won't have switch 2s, only the middle aged soyim will.
