>>43167 (OP)>gaming headsetIt's better for you if I tell you this, but gaming tech is usually cheap shit with RGB LED stuck onto it to make it gaming-y. You are usually paying a premium for something average to shit because it was "for gaymers". If you want sound, pick audiophile headphones/IEMs, if you want a mic get a mic, and so on. If you really have to pick something that has all of these features then pick something from a good brand like Sony or get an IEM and a mic cable for them, you'll be sacrificing mic quality for better sound, but it's a fair tradeoff.

buy used Beyerdynamic DT990 50 ohm's off ebay,
or used Sony M3 ANC headphones (needs to be charged doe)

as other stated, any gamerslop marketed hardware is garbage
I use Sennheiser 560s and they are by FAR the most comfortable cans I ever used, since they go around your ear instead of pressing on it, I can't really use anything else now
also they are really durable, I dropped them 100 times already and they work perfectly fine
They are open back, so if you prefer closed cans get hd569 or hd620s
sennheiser also sells a mic cord you can just slot into the headphones, if you need comms

Save your pennies up and get good headphones and just about any $20-$50 mic. Gayming headsets are getting better audio quality over the last few years, but they still don't make sense because practically all of them have awful mics for no real reason at all, and only a few have a half decent mic. If you want meaningful bass, you're going to have to get closed back headphones. The HD 620S is alright. The HD 480 Pro is better if you have the money and want better sound and much better build quality. I'm not the biggest fan of Sennheiser in general, but these models are good. No matter what headphones you get, you should get EQ APO with the Peace addon (both are free) for parametric equalization. Diminishing returns hits like a nuke over $400 in headphones. Go over that price, and you're almost exclusively paying for looks. I'd even argue anything over $250ish isn't worth it sound quality wise if you learn how to use PEQ.
Sony MDR-M1 is another one to keep your eye on. If you have a smaller budget, the FiiO FT1 is possibly your best bet, but there are build quality concerns.
