As a last ditch effort, I joined the distribution's community IRC server and asked. I was met with 100 troons all fighting for the opportunity to tell me "you shouldn't use telnet, its Old and Insecure and I'm very smart and You should use ssh and you're Dumb for using telnet :3".
Then I just opened a fucking book and figured it out which I should've done from the start.

This is a widespread cancer in most if not all tech support communities, not just leenoox. I use the analogy of the pear and the apple to explain the problem.

Unfortunately online tech support is filled with either pajeets that spit words without thinking (do you have specific problem? just update the computor's drivers saar) or midwits that NEED to feel superior to those who don't know 💀 about the subject in question (aka RTFM fuckers), this sucks specially when the only websites where somebody has your same problem are reddit or a dnb forum
