I uses qemu in fedora on 5600x and it is fine, I have no idea what your problem could be. though I have 32 gb of ram.

Turns out that 1. kvm/qemu (or atleast virt manager) has some presets for some OSs that optimize the vm (don't use generic linux, its really laggy) and 2. virtualbox is brappy in Linux for some reason. Thanks for nothing niggers
