Idk about applecvcks but if you're on Android downloading Imagepipe from F-droid issa must. Removes metadata, converts images and can even compress them (you can make babyjaks or crickets).

I heard in the privacy section of settings, you can turn off location data for the camera app. Just note that I do not know what other metadata is with photos on iphone.

Privacy and security > Location services > camera and turn on never (and maybe turn off precise location too)
