well, i found out matrix was spun up by a company with ties to mossad, and matrix itself is quite crap anyway.

Other than signal (USA btw) or session, are there any good VoIP platforms one can use? I want to play with my friends and need something that's both encrypted and easy to use.

Element call seemed cool but then i found links to mossad in that too, since it's the same people who built matrix in the first place.

Tox was an option but it's peer-to-peer and thus more annoying to use, I host my own server for comms, music, and everything else so centralized services (like element call) are an option.

perhaps I'll just set element call up on my server and forget about the glowies.

If you are doing this, turn off relays and torify simplex (and your default browser)

SimpleX (analogous to Signal)
GNU/Jami (analogous to Zoom)

TRUSTWORTHY VPN STRONGLY ENCOURAGED FOR COMSEC!

No keep relays on so you are not direct connecting to peers for VOIP. Tor is strongly encouraged, but even when torified the VOIP goes out unobfuscated regardless (there is no Tor on SimpleX calls). I strongly encouraged a trustworthy VPN for SimpleX VOIP in >>36536
