The only usecase that works for it is ports on phones/peripherals because it stays in place better than usb b. Otherwise it creates more confusion because everything has the same physical port, but different specifications which are harder to find compared to video/power/data having their own port.

I've almost never seen usb-b, only this, usb-a and micro usb for phones (and thanks the lord that big tech nuked that shit because it was designed like ass). btw Apple has started this trend and has been replacing usb-a ports with usb-c on the macs for some reason or something.
