-game on steam (mostly games that came out before 2017(there's online games so idk if cs source or gmod will implode if I play on linux)) and emulation like pcsx2
-editing & animation (flash 8 and openshot but I might switch to a better editor because 'shot is jeeted and doesn't have that many features)

and yeah that's mostly it because i'm not using my work pc to go on the datamine.poopy site. My specs are pretty outdated from the early 2010's but I've heard that some distros are very good with mumbai poopwater cooled pc's

they will work well with proton, as for online games it depends on the anticheat but source games like css and gmod work perfectly

depends on your software, look up compatibility with wine

for the distro with specs like this you should go for something like bodhi linux

Since you're new i recommend linux mint, distros like fedora also exist but it doesnt seem like you need the latest hardware support/software
