one day they will extend it to anything they don't like or anything that threatens their control over the proles
do it yourself

Tell your mum to stop uploading photos of you to random services and make her take down all photos of you she has posted on Instagram. Don't use Google Photos and instead buy an external hard drive and backup your photos to that.

im on iPhone now but i might switch to graphene soon, old pixels arent that expensive and ive been growing tired of ios.

the only thing keeping me from using it is the lack of a tap to pay solution.
these days i carry my wallet with me all the time tho so maybe it wont be as inconvenient as i think it is

shes a milleanial (or late genx, idk), wont be easy. i tried years ago but she just doesnt care.

im actually planning on getting a mini pc to self host my own stuff. everything got too expensive now tho so im waiting for things to get cheaper.
for now i think that youre right, an external hard drive should be good enough.

jud put long term copies on dvds and have backups on hdds in case the dvds turn into dnbs
no need to have a fancy media server or anything like that
just copy the media off of whatever device it is on
optical mediums don't degrade as fast as the other options you have
just store your stuff properly
