<plebbit spaceI understand what you mean though, I've switched to offline email with a client and it is so much faster than loading two terabytes of jeet code on a browser.

>>34284the word minimalist was ruined by hipsters and troons. i agree that utilitarian might be a good way to describe it. im tempted to say brutalist utilitarian but, again, the word brutalist was ruined by
(((hipsters))). functional optimization maybe?
an offline email client is actually aryan though. i use thunderbird for normgroid mail but
(((mozilla))) still datamines you so you cant really be at ease. what client do you use? im looking for non-glowing ones.

call this style wx31, shorthand for windows 3.1, just like hecking frutiger aero is derived from windows aero.
<
Original windows 1 and windows 3.1 were just graphical interfaces for MS DOS, and DOS was a simple operating systems designed to read a disk or a disket or execute programs, nothing more, nothing less. It's simple. It's a program manager, it does that.
<
Windows 3.1 has all the programs you need on the desktop. No bottom bar, no searching through the file explorer. The UI is fast and concise, pleasing and simple. Text is readable and pleasant to read. Icons only appear as closed programs. No bloat. No dead weight. No unnecessary time wasted. No jeet code. Just you, computer, and many windows that help you visualize tasks. If I were to make an OS, I would make it like win31

>>34285since I heckin' love vim style programs that don't need a mouse I use neomutt
<troon spaceusing it with lute's mutt wizard script does most of the setup for you but it'll still take some fiddling to get it just right
<minimalist spaceit was worth the annoyance of setting it up in my opinion, sifting through emails with just the keyboard is so quick and snappy and the program itself takes up very little space
<hipster spaceI acknowledge that I am still being a massive hipster tho, stay FAR away from it if you don't want to touch a config file

I think you're right though, we need a (key)word that we can use to identify software made by /tech/GODS, what about "slick, and snappy!" or just snappy.
â„–34358[Quote]
>>34285>the word minimalist was ruined by hipsters and troons. Kind of yeah, but I haven't noticed this being bait and switch, you can tell if some software was written by lgbt if you just take one look at the contributors, code style, etc.

>>34392yeah looks interesting. I really like the clicky clacky tactile feeling of using keyboard navigation. However, I need
(((windows 10))) for work and college shit. I try my best to stay away from the shitstain that is win11 and I "debloated" my windows10 years ago, but you cannot get gold by polishing shit. Maybe when I save enough money I'll buy a dead nigger thinkpad from fb to fuck with.
â„–34570[Quote]
>>34526why do you "need" windows 10?
you should try linux mint, you can use all windows apps there using wine, and its as easy to use as windows (hell, i think its easier due to how simple and easy it is to configure it, compared to windows which locks down and hides options they dont want you meddling with)
â„–34571[Quote]
>>34526overall, CLI and TUI are way more efficient compared to GUI. This is because the first 2 are focused on modularity and efficiency while the 3rd is focused on marketing
â„–34587[Quote]
>>34575i mean as long as youre not trying games with kernel level anticheat or microsoft 365 you can run practically anyth,ng

>>34570I have linux mint on dual boot and it runs splendidly, but I'm retarded so I'm afraid of fucking something up because all my documents are on this computer, and I don't have a laptop to safely fuck with.
>why do you "need" windows 10?Unfortunately, society is mostly run by normies and goycattle, forcing everyone to use their shitty microslop datamining spyware
(((Microsoft teams))). Are there any limits to what wine can run? And how does it work? I get my paycheck soon so, with some savings, I'll give up on beer for the next few months or so to buy a laptop and external drive to backup my shit.
â„–34663[Quote]
>>34652you should get an USB/extra storage like a HDD or ssd to back all your personal stuff up, its a good practice in general
to be honest, dual booting is riskier than just running Linux since microslop loves to fuck with your Linux boot files and fuck everything up
also you can use microsoft teams through a browser, using its web client. Hell, the app itself is just a chromium reskin geg
you should buy from local small businesses since the kind of experimental shitty hardware is cheaper there
â„–34671[Quote]
>>34663>Teams is just a chromium reskinWhat else did I expect
<I'm a datahoarder so I just have the most random shit on my drive. I have trouble deciding what files to backup. I'll most likely be buying a second-hand laptop from some store nearby. I've heard of people getting devices which weren't wiped so you just had someone's porn stash come free with your laptop. It happened to me when I bought a used walkman. Some guy's personal mixtape was in there for whatever reason.
<If you're really rich, I recommend buying random second-hand shit just to see what you can datamine

>>34652>are there any limits to what wine can run?On winedb site you can learn what windows programs wine can run and cannot run. Also there's a Steam's Proton that's better for running games, it runs most games properly, you can check compatibility on protondb site.
>and how does it work?Wine is a compatibility layer for Windows programs. It translates Windows kernel calls into Linux kernel calls so your Windows program runs on Linux with performance close to native
