What are you guys experiences like with tinkering with electronics?

I have a bunch of old electronic stuff I've been meaning to play around with but I just don't have the time currently and I'm scared I'm gonna electrocute myself.

If any of you 'teens have any expertise in this matter then don't be a SLF and share with the rest of us retards.

I have good experience tinkering with electronics. Do you mean Arduino stuff for cool projects, or the boring stuff?

upgrading the hard drive of 'pod minis is a cool and easy project (if you're not a ham handed)
it's easy to replace the hard drive with one of these SD to CF card adaptors once you're inside
restoring with itunes doesn't always work seamlessly but there's a knack to it once you figure it out

If by boring stuff you mean working with consumer electronics then yeah that was what I was mainly referring to

Arduino stuff seems interesting but I just don't really pay attention to that whole side of tinkering

Thanks for the resources

I remember when i was a caca i would take apart old electronics and see how they worked from the inside and my parents told me to stop breaking shit

i dont know if its because of this childhood obsession but working with electronics and microcomputers is really fun although i do not see myself pursuing this path in the future

Fixed a friend’s old Wii by replacing the hard drive, great experience that got me into computers

Mostly cleaning my laptop, plugging the BIOS settings battery in/out. I've planned on getting into tinkering/electronics repair because I transheart content like Bringus and hacking in general.

It interests me but i never really got into it.
That was until i got this old broken monitor from my school, it apparently spraked and broke. The teacher was using it up until a few weeks ago, so it has been in use for 20+ years, geg. Anyways, now i got it and after disassembling it, i reduced where the fault can be to 1 specific board (primarily because that one was most covered in soot) but idk how to proceed further, so ill make a thread in this board to ask for help
