virt-manager is just an UI. KVM is the best virtualization software because it uses the linux kernel directly and does not act like an app, like virtualbox does. QEMU is just the way you connect to the VM.

I would recommend install virt-manager and changing the connection to QEMU/KVM inside of File > Add connection

those are type 2 hypervisors, you may also consider type 1 hypervisor, e.g. Xen, but idk if its even maintained today

gnome boxes uses qemu as a backend if i remember, its just a user friendly option

virt-manager is convinent GUI wrapper for qemu which uses kvms.
It performs significantly better than virtualbox. You can setup/migrate same VMs in both and test it yourself, easy to verify.
If you want to do passthrough stuff also virt-manager/kvm is the only way (Which is also the only way to get decent graphics performance inside a guest with nvidia since nvidia is jewish and they don't let you accelerate guests in Linux)
