ive been using nixos for a couple months now and its good for 99% of things but theres a slight learning curve learning their shit language and using standard linux binaries requires you to write your own script sometimes (mostly fixable with shit like steam-run and nix ld)
the good things about it for me is version pinning for each package so some of them can be on newest some on some older version so you can update manually and not all at once and being able to look through all installed packages in oragnized files (pacman on arch fucked up the package querying for me a lot of the time)
