I fucking hate C and C++. I started writing a compiler in C and gave up because of lack of abstraction (no classes, no generics, no lists, no maps, NOTHING) Converting pointers to void* sucks it's not a good way to do generics. Also I constantly get memory

I hate C++ because it has 10000000 features and 1000000 ways to do the same thing and it's fucking ugly, it compiles up to 40 seconds for me and the errors are incomprehensible. Oh and you can't write C++ as C because you just cant, okay? It's considered bad pratice for WHAT fucking reason is it called after C then??

I would but I write code for embedded and support for anything other than c/c++ is basically non existant and will not be achieved in the nearest 20 years at least

taught us nothing but algorithms and I never had to use that knowledge when I was employed in IT. The same goes for "being able to write code without abstractions and stuff", there are some niche use cases for that but most of the time c just restricts you and makes you write code that's not easy to maintain
