I have really shity pc and I really want to use linux the only problem for some unknown reason gmod lag and I have same settings as on windows 10 and still lag is there any fix to that or am I doomed

which distro are u using?
have u tried using ProtonGE instead of the regular valve one?
try disabling steam cloud in case its downloading some weird config file from windows thats screwing the linux install or something

gmod's linux port is shit and if your PC is super old it probably has mediocre opengl drivers

It has a native Linux version but yes, disabling steam cloud is a good idea. Also enable the 64 bit version in version settings

oh ok, went to protondb and saw it had the gold badge so i thought it didnt have a native version. good to know
