Didn't even mention the keyboard which is the most aryan typing experience in existence (literally better than my custom expensive mechanical keyboard)

Never had a typing experience like with Thinkpads.

if you don't need a strong GPU yea its pretty good

>>30714So what Iām seeing is core/libre/GNU boot halts ME. How do you know those devices can fully kill the ME from the firmware? Unless Iām missing something
ā30722[Quote]
>>30718You don't. Anything Intel's Nehalem architecture and beyond can't have the ME firmware completely gutted. me_cleaner used by libreboot "circumvents" this on newer hardware by removing everything that doesn't trip the watchdog and also flipping a disable bit included by Intel. I think it's really obvious why this is not a proper solution and I seriously think there is a possibility that the libreboot tranny was comprised when he decided to do this. He cited free software purists wanting a proper reverse engineer before moving on from Core 2 were a minority. The only way I could see him actually thinking this is true is only being surrounded by his circlejerking troon cabal each with 13 thinkpads they couldn't larp as stallman with

>>30722I found a w500 near me. You mentioned a w500 can fully disable me. Does it require hard core tinkertranny'ing or is it similar to flashing android roms.
ā30724[Quote]
>>30723You need an external flasher and the disassembly is pretty involved
https://canoeboot.org/docs/install/t500.htmlThere are machines that allow flashing from BIOS like the Dell E6400 mentioned in the guide

>>30724Thank you. Looks like I'll have to buy a pico and wifi card alongside it

X220/230 so much easier to libreboot compared with fully dissembling t430

>>30726Like
>>30724 >>30714 said, I need to FULLY remove it, not partially disable it. If that means a weaker cpu than the 220 or 230 so be it
ā30734[Quote]
>>30728But it won't be for work. What's your point?
ā30738[Quote]
>>30724For reference I recently corebooted my x220 and it's a little bit annoying to flash but not horrible
Pico H and jumper cables were dirt cheap but the flash clip was $20. The disassembly was simple and the actual flash was nerve-racking (because it was my first time, be gentle) but worked on the first try. I bought the stuff from digikey, would reccomend doing it to your stinkpad
ā30740[Quote]
>>30738Yeah the w500 guide mentions a risk of permanently bricking the motherboard.
ā30742[Quote]
