This, 5/8gb are used when you just turn it on and look at the desktop. If you want a WORKstation, get a thinkpad.

id wait for the next years model, which will supposedly have 12gb of ram.
for basic web browsing tasks, the current neo is ok i guess but its kinda limited.

do NOT get a thnkpad, dont fall for the 4cuck meme

too expensive doe, at least they are in my country. once you add a new ssd, an extra 8gb of ram and maybe a new battery might as well get a new laptop

What are prices for the neo and used thinkpads?

 â„–30669[Quote]

>>30666
For the price of macintosh neo you can get like an aryanpad with dedicated GPU with its own vram and 32gb ram or something, and aryanpads are x86-64 so they can run more things, also they don't store bios on the soldered SSD

589€ for the 8/512gb + Touch ID variant. The 256gb model isnt worth it.

Old thinkpads, like the T480, about 120€. read >>30659

any recommendations? im in my itoddler era but i wouldnt mind trying out a thinkpad

I personally managed to get a T14 g2 for 177 euro with an i5 1145g7, 16/256gb, because it had a dent (cosmetic only). Ryzen models are usually more desirable, but I could skimp on the processor since I have a desktop.

I was looking through troonpad models recently and have found the p'52 thinkpad for pretty cheap on ebay, for about £200 you can have an 8th gen i7, 16gb ram, a quadro GPU and a removable battery. The RAM can be greatly upgraded and the SSD it comes with will probably be the same if not larger than that of the itoddler laptop which has a puny 256GB. If you don't care about thinkpads, dell latitudes can be a bit cheaper for similar specs.

The macbook is a borderline chromebook in terms of its specs. 8GB soldered ram, no GPU, and a mobile CPU, and only 256GB storage. The CPU is surprisingly good doebeit, and since its a phono cpu it should be efficient for battery life, but it costs too much for the bullshit it is. You can find any random windows laptop for the same price with a more powerful or similar CPU, more storage and at least 16gb ram. Its just too expensive for what it is, and is meant to be a macbook for the niggers that are obsessed with apple but can't afford the gorillion dollar fancy macbooks.
