I am inclined to think secret societies, in particular the Freemasons, are le bad guys who want to usher in le AI surveillance state or something but what do you think about them?

this is so obvious but is probably a hot take on this shitty board

You should state the obvious about conspiracies to novicebrains

youve already stated it. though most freemasons dont know what theyre involved in, the whole thing is compartmentalized by degrees with only a small inner circle being aware of the bigger agenda

Masonry is like Christianism but kinda gay and lefty

I think, initially, it started out as a gentleman's club to enlighten oneself but, overtime, I think it self-realized to this global nannystate goal

not really. the agenda predates modern freemasonry by thousands of years, going back to the ancient mystery schools of babylon and egypt. freemasonry didnt gradually develop some global control agenda, its just one branch of a much older network. the whole gentlemens club aspect is largely what the lower degrees are led to believe

I'm not sure if you knew this but this is something I found out through independent research: do you know our Bill of Rights? Well, as it turns out, the Freemasons at the time who mostly masqueraded as the Federalists didn't want to add that to the Constitution. It had to be forced through by the largely non-Mason Anti-Federalists. Otherwise they would've had the Constitution without protections for the citizenry.
