Before the Neolithic (new stone age) era, practically every human on earth was a Hunter-Gatherer. They roamed in small tribes across vast lands, hunting animals and eating whatever they found on the way. Europe was populated by a race called the Western Hunter Gatherers. They were tall, strong, and healthy, and had dark brown skin and blue eyes, but over the neolithic, they got totally replaced by the Anatolian Neolithic Farmers, who were 3-4 inches shorter, much weaker, disease ridden, and lighter skinned with brown eyes. How did this happen?
The WHG had a diet which mostly consisted of protein and fat, with some carbs. It was diverse and full of nutrients. Despite living at a high latitude in Europe, they had brown skin because there was no evolutionary incentive to have lighter skin for them. The ANF had just invented Agriculture, and thus, their diets were completely replaced and almost entirely relied on grains and grain products. They occasionally consumed meat and dairy, but it was very rare. Any protein they had from their diets was in the form of beans like lentils. Their diets were over 80% carbohydrate, with very low fat, while the WHG were more like 40% protein, 40% fat, and 20% carbs. The reason they had lighter skin and it lightened a lot over time is because they had a massive evolutionary incentive. The WHG had dark skin, and lived at a high latitude, so they got very little sun penetrating their skin, and very little Vitamin D produced that way, but their diets were rich with meat and fatty fish which have tons of vitamin D3 in them, so that's how they acquired it. On the other hand, grains have zero vitamin D whatsoever, and plus, the ANF were migrating into higher latitudes in Europe at the time, so the ANF had extremely widespread vitamin D deficiency and related health issues, so the healthiest ones were the ones with lighter skin who could synthesize it from the sun more effectively. This later became a common trait through natural selection. Beyond this, many many other health issues stemmed from ANF malnourishment, which is the reason they were weaker and shorter and had dental issues and were disease ridden and wh*te.
The reason they ended up getting the upper hand in Europe, almost totally replacing the native WHG, is because farming provides enormous advantages in the quantity of food they could produce which translated to a demographic boom, literally providing them strength in numbers, but also their lifestyle gave them other distinct advantages.

To begin with, Hunter Gatherers could never stay in one place. They had to be constantly moving around and eating whatever they found. They needed a lot of land to live on, so they travelled in groups of 15-50. Their use of land was extremely inefficient, only 1 person could live on a 10 square kilometer plot of land because there was just not enough wild animals and plants to sustain many people on such a plot, so their population density was extremely low, meanwhile, farming could outperform it hundreds of times, so hundreds of people could live on a 10 square kilometer plot of land, and the birth rates and fertility rates of the farmers was much higher due to both the amount of food and also the fact that grains could be turned into porridge, allowing babies to be weaned off their mother's milk much sooner. A hunter gatherer woman could only birth up to 4 kids in her lifetime, while a farmer could have up to 10. There was literally no such thing as a city or town before the Neolithic Farmers came into existence. Now, hundreds or even thousands of people can all live amongst one another in one large fortified settlement. Such a settlement could source all of its food from just a few farms, and there was an abundance of it. There was no more need to move around, because another important thing is that grain can be stored for years without rotting, which means that even in winter, they did not have to go find food, they had already stored grain ahead of time, which permits them to live sedentarily year round in one settlement. Hunter-gatherers did not have this capability. Meat would rot if not eaten immediately, so they just had to eat whatever they caught on the spot, and move on. Sedentary life was not an option for them, and everyone had the same job, day after day, just find whatever you need to eat to survive, and thus we see another advantage of the farmers, there was extra grain, which everyone ate and could be stored for a long time, so the grain literally became currency for their societies. As such, not everyone needs to be a farmer. As long as your skills are in demand, you could be paid in grain for your work, so now opens up different pathways. You could be a craftsman, you could be a guard, you could be a builder. Living no longer meant simply finding something to subsist off anymore, this was the beginning of human development, and the birth of technology. This was also the beginning of hierarchy. Now, the most powerful man was the man with the most grain, who provided the most value to the society and could dispense the most wealth. Now there are rulers and classes, and there are soldiers and competing cities. This was the beginning of society, and what is a small band of primitive hunter Gatherers, strong and healthy as they are, going to do against a fortified city with technology, weapons, and large armies?
This is how they took over. Thanks for reading

also if you really dig into it , natufains are the earliest to make permanent societies and cites , later on anatolians making massive farms and long term societies is a disaster , maybe zagrosians were farmers but they were primal and also did not live in massive permanent societies rather small communities and always moved , they also had this weird ceremony of gathering every bunch in a while in madshit no where*Gobekli Tepe*

>>4318107There was a resurgence of Y-DNA I in the late neolithic, presumably many ANF groups at that time had soil depletion and crop failure, so there was some mixing with the WHG, male biased.
