I feel that David Chase didn't show enough of New York. They become intrinsic to the plot in the last 2/3 Seasons, yet you barely see any of them. I think it would have been beneficial to the story, if you saw things from their perspective a little more, have Butch be a more fleshed out character, considering how important he is to the finale. Why was he so put off by latter half of S6 Phil? Why was he so moved by Tony visiting Phil? I do see the argument against this, where one could argue that it would remove the focus from the core cast, but The Sopranos always feels like it has atleast one pointless plotline throughout the Season. Thoughts?
