What are /pol/'s thoughts on IQ tests as a metric of quantifying intelligence? How trustworthy do you believe them to be in assessing someone's cognitive ability and potential outcomes in life? If the scores on the tests administered to the captured Nazi officials during the Nuremberg trials (picrel) and the claim of JFK having an IQ of 119 happen to be accurate, it would imply that someone only has to be better at matching patterns than around 80-90% of the population to potentially become politically successful, which I find interesting.

I think it's better at quantifying lack of intelligence, at the other end of the bell curve it gets finicky.

What makes you say that?

I think the difference in intelligence between higher quotients starts being less and less distinguishable. A person with 85 IQ will be noticeable less intelligent than one with 95, yet the difference between 120 and 130 is a lot finer.
