So, I'm a 18 yo closeted MtF living in an incredibly conservative family in Russia (off to a great start I know). My college group consists mostly of girls (26.5 girls and 1.5 guys) and they LOVE doing girly stuff with me, even though they don't know I'm MtF. Yesterday we were talking about nail painting and one of them invited me to her dorm to paint my nails to which I agreed. SHE GAVE ME SUCH CUTE NAILS! like it wasn't anything fancy, just plain black nails with a little dot right under the nail but they looked so CUTE. And I was going to go to my friend's birthday (he knows I'm MtF) and show those nails to all my friends. So I came home and decided to snack a bit before going out, and right as I was pouring my tea my mom came home. For half an hour I had to hide my nails from her. But right before I left she noticed them. She was FUMING. She cursed the girl who did my nails, she cursed me for letting her do my nails, she cursed my group mates who didn't stop her from doing my nails, she berated me for letting my nails "grow to big for a boy" and ran to the bathroom to take nail polish remover. She grabbed my hand and just wiped my nails clean off, then cut them with shaking hands (while still cursing me for letting my nails grow "too big"). I was devastated. I picked out a really cute T-shirt and jeans that fit with the nails, I was really excited to show my nails to my friends and then she ruined it all. I'm still really upset about it. So yeah I think her behavior is kinda problematic ngl.
