The irony of proclaiming a gold-backed currency as "real" or superior is ridiculous. When one bases their currency on a system ran by, maintained and perpetuated by international finance and lended by the usurious dens of thievery we call banks, a nation is no more free than it is a great plantation, with its money masters at the helm. In reality, nothing that is of genuine value is not a derivative of labor, the only true wealth any nation has.
