Claiming an institutional link to the Roman Empire is gay and cucked. The Empire itself represents the degeneration of the Patrician spirit, with the militarist and ethnic supremacist Republic transitioning to the bureaucratic and flatly cosmopolitan patronage system that the so-called Empire ultimately came out to be, an economic zone desperately clinging first to the figure of the Emperor and then Christianity as a sole and weak link acting as any sort of unifying force of "romanness" throughout the land, in place of the ancient concept of it in the shape of the hierarchical and tight-knit tribal composition of the Republic. As such, true modern inheritance of the Romanitas is actually best measured by the cultural and genetic proximity to that original population of proud Romans who truly ruled in their own state as a united and coherent distinct tribe.
