Human beings are biological creatures bound by nature. We age, break, compete, cooperate, and must replace ourselves across generations. Any way of living or thinking that systematically undermines these requirements is self-destructive, regardless of how sophisticated or morally elevated it appears.
Philosophy is not primarily a search for final Truth or a beautiful system. It is a practical tool - like conscience - for detecting and avoiding patterns that lead to personal or civilizational self-termination. The relevant test of an idea or practice is whether it sustains competent human life and continuity over time, or whether it consumes its own preconditions.
Much of what currently presents itself as advanced or "superior" morality in wealthy societies is downstream of excess comfort and low immediate pressure. When survival and reproduction are easy, it becomes possible to treat biological constraints, fertility, pair-bonding, hierarchy of competence, and cultural transmission as optional or even oppressive. This ethic is subsidized by abundance. Under real scarcity it tends to collapse. In that sense it is not a higher stage of moral evolution but a luxury belief that becomes dangerous when it erodes the conditions that made the luxury possible.
Traditional religions, whatever their metaphysical claims, repeatedly converge on restraining pure hedonism and on valuing the perpetuation of life and a way of living. This is not arbitrary dogma; it tracks a load-bearing requirement. Societies that stop replacing themselves disappear. The modern revolt against these norms - whether framed as liberation, autonomy, or progress - functions as a revolt against the conditions of continued existence.
Ideas matter even when people do not study them. Cultural atmospheres, incentives, and status signals shape behavior. A society can drift into short-term hedonism, demographic collapse, and institutional fragility without most of its members ever reading the underlying philosophy. The ideas still act. Philosophy's usefulness lies in making those patterns visible so they can be resisted.
The practical orientation that follows is selective and anti-utopian: preserve what demonstrably works, replace what no longer fits the environment, judge by results in reality rather than by purity of intention or abstract equality, and treat the building and maintenance of workable order as more important than theoretical self-consciousness. The one who successfully shapes and sustains viable forms of life is closer to the ideal than the one who only diagnoses or emotes.
In short: do not negate the conditions of life. Use thought as a tool to avoid doing so. Measure ideas by whether they help human beings continue as competent, reproducing, culture-transmitting creatures, or whether they lead toward extinction by comfort.

No, they simply use it as a tool, reward system to control the masses. And the philosophy in it core should always look for perfection, to create a Utopia.

I agree but I wouldn't call this new.
Using a pragmatic approach to the maintenance of your nation is super typical.
Tools that create cohesion and promote development and expansion have been the standard for the majority of human history.
Its good that we re discover what our ancestors used to think and why, because the old men of our time have let us down by being retarded hippies who don't have any values or principles, so its up to us to read what men from centuries ago believed and to understand they had very good reasons to do so.
β4282113[Quote]
>>4282102Two problems with that.
First, even if some religious institutions used those norms for control, that doesn't explain why the same pattern appears so consistently across very different religions and cultures. The more basic question is functional: societies that stop replacing themselves and stop transmitting a workable way of life disappear. Norms that push against pure present-hedonism and toward continuity have survival value. Calling them "control" doesn't make the demographic and civilizational consequences go away.
Second, the utopia point. You say philosophy should aim at perfection and utopia, but you don't define what that utopia actually is. If it's mainly the maximization of comfort, autonomy, and the removal of traditional restraints, then we already have a large-scale experiment running. The result in many wealthy societies is below-replacement fertility, weakened intergenerational transmission, and cultural patterns that consume their own preconditions. In other words, the pursuit of that undefined "perfection" is producing self-termination, not arrival.

There is an underlying conflict tho: people believe in ideals before they reach this conclussion, and most won't abandon those ideals even if they agree with the general conclussion
Take religion for example. A devout christian will argue his religion is the backbone of western civilization and has to be preserved. A radical atheist will say his point of view is better suited for future developments.
None of them are willing to really get rid of their position out of conviction, but also pride.
β4282136[Quote]
>>4282115Society, as all things, is purely contextual, you cannot claim whites are inherently superior while also admitting they are being replaced in many western nations, these are conflicting, communism works for one race and not for another, authoritarianism is natural for one race and not for the other, different pressures and factors lead to different people's and societies, there is no single universal utopia, simply localized fit societies that can do something better than other ones, find your niche, outcompete others in it and you'll have a place in the game of life.
β4282146[Quote]
>>4282133You're right that most people start with prior commitments and rarely drop them just because a functional argument is made. That observation explains why the problem is hard.
If people are primarily driven by feeling and prior identity, and reason is often just the story they tell afterward, then you cannot rely on pure rational persuasion to keep a society from sterile patterns. Most people will not coolly switch frameworks when the data on fertility, continuity, or institutional decay comes in.
That is exactly why morality cannot be left as an open, private, feeling driven thing. If the default is that people follow affective loyalties and status incentives, then a culture needs load-bearing norms; restraints on pure present-hedonism, expectations around family and transmission, status attached to competence and continuity; that do not depend on everyone independently reaching the same philosophical conclusion. Those norms function as a form of collective self-control.

>>4282154The problem is what happens in the meantime. Not every self-terminating ideology is immediately self-eliminating. Some can spread they'r rot before ACKing thenselves.
Antinatalism is a clean example: its explicit goal is the end of human reproduction. It will not succeed the entire species, but where it gains cultural ground it still produces real damage: a weakened economy and white race. Whats the point of living if there are no white people?

>>4282175And…? An organism catches a virus, the virus can hardly be considered living, more a force of nature if anything, it exists to destroy, the virus is therefore neutral morally speaking, maladaptive ideologies are just like that virus, a fleeting infection with no long term goal, whether someone dies to a virus is less so up to the virus itself but to their immune system, and having a weak immune system is not a good thing, obviously, similarly, allowing your society to be infected by suicidal ideologies speaks more about your society's careless handling of them, thus my issue with Christianity paving the way to modern day nihilism being partly their fault.
