Hindus also do this, though we mainly pick our students through bloodlines. Brahmins are specifically bred to study the vedas and learn about theology, kshatrias are meant to be warriors, kings, and other political leaders, vaishyas are meant to run the farms and essentially be landlords, shudras are meant to be the peasants who work on the farms, and dalits are meant to do the dirtiest work in society such as cleaning shit off of toilets and sweeping streets.
