Ideology where people believe that everything bad stems from the government, and that there should be a minimal/no government. They tend to be obsessed with the free market and think that everything being controlled by the free market would make it better.
They are also generally against policing and laws and want maximal freedoms.
Its a very retarded ideology because the free market is famously shit at being a governing body. They would put you into pods and feed you ze bugs because it would make them more money. Also, this ideology is enjoyed by some niggers because it would mean no laws and they could goon to 'p.

The thing they never talk about that messes with me is just how would it fight against things like other countries trying to invade them if there is no nation and just a bunch of small tribes where there are no laws. Also yeah 'Pooners of course would see it that way no surprise there

>>4263270Anarchists really don't make sense. They can't even seem to think that someone in all that anarchy would crown themselves king or someone would set up a democracy or something, and then take control of it all. As was done everywhere across the world, in completely un-related occasions, throughout history. Nobody has just stayed with no leader. Even the SNCA tribes will have a shaman or something. And Anarchism offers nothing against this, because there is no government or anybody to stop this person from saying they are king and getting people to support them via money or violence or other means

I want to know if I'm just hearing faggots talking or is there some merit here

β4263331[Quote]
>>4263307Monarchy is mostly a larp ideology at the moment but the arguments have some merit. One I've heard is that a monarch inherently has more long-term interest in the good of a nation than a president. A president has no reason to care about the good of the nation past their term, they can take their last paycheck and leave and never return. They therefore don't have to care about long term projects because their successors who see it finished would claim all credit anyway.
Meanwhile, a monarch has to think more long term for the good of the nation and its people. He will be head of state his entire life, or at least until he abdicates, therefore he can't make short term decisions that will ruin the nation in like 8 years, because he will still be there to take the blame in 8 years. Also, the next person in charge isn't someone from the opposite party or whatever, it is generally their child. So they would again be incentivised to leave the nation in the best possible state for them. Democracies kinda suck because you won't see any projects that take longer than 4 years or whatever take place unless investing in them is a huge deal for the voterbase, and every time theres an election candidates lie out of their arse and gain support that way. A monarch cannot lie and then not deliver without repercussions, can't blame the opposite party for all issues, and will have to take responsibility for their mistakes

>>4263240>They tend to be obsessed with the free market and think that everything being controlled by the free market would make it better. You're thinking of ancaps. Ancaps are the ones who believe that everything should be controlled by Corporations due to recognizing the harsh truth that many regulatory actions made by the State have done nothing more than to drive up prices, stagnate technological development, and artificially create monopolies. Libertarianism is much more broader than that, as there's also the existence of Minarchists who believe in a smaller, more watchman State (similarly to America during and after the revolution).
Like WPR said, Libertarianism is centered around individualism being the highest order of political value. Ideally, this means that most Libertarians simply want the State to have less control over the free market and the people to an extent (aka stop spying on people and actually respect the laws of the land). But alas, anbraps have been the more vocal & dominate side of Libertarian discourse due to online discussions being retarded nonsense shitflinging.

>>4263364I do agree with them that a lot of the growth of the state was bad. A lot is being done to spy on citizens and make sure the major companies are untouched. I wouldn't say all cases of a stronger government are bad however, for example a protectionist government is generally good for its people, and businesses within the nation, and doesn't bend over for international zog companies. Some concepts that libertarians argue over however are quite stupid. You can often hear them obsessing over food regulation and such. I feel like this is a case where the government stepping in is very good, as otherwise there wouldn't even be the legal requirement to disclose what is in the product.
Ancaps are definitely the vocal minority, and are complete shitstains.
β4263458[Quote]
>>4263389I will admit that I am exaggerating about how I feel regarding ancaps. I do hold a great amount of respect for some of the ancaps within the sphere of Libertarianism. However I won't lie when I say I don't see ancap being something that would change much of the current status.
But I do generally agree that the least principled ones have tarnished the movement in recent years. A good example
(((that isn't just pointing out the subverise pedophilic freak))) would be Dave Smith and the Mises Caucus falling into the pragmatic line of thinking. It generally makes Libertarians looks less principled as a result of aligning with populist Republicans.
>>4263415In my opinion, Protectionist governments sounds good on paper until they take it too far. Which they typically do. A good example would be health insurance industry & how many of the regulations passed decades ago were in result of big pharmaceutical companies looking to control the market. Or hell, I recall a more recent example where a new eye examination test threatened the bottom line of doctors. And those same doctors banded together to regulate the practice across 15 different states. The reason why was because the online exam was not only cheaper, but apparently much more accurate. To me, it simply points to the fact that it can and usually becomes a slipperly slope for needless regulation of the market. But then again, this could be a result of Democracies being a sham.
