the issue is that those labels refer to different things which don't necessarily contradict each other
left (socialism; planned economy) - right (capitalism; laissez-faire)
left (progressist; LGBTQIAPZ+, non-white worship, collective guilt) - right (conservative; heckin' incel chuds)
you've also got the political compass mindrape which introduces an authoritarian to libertarian axis, which refers to "social" freedom (in reality people only acknowledge it as whether trans' can groom kids and men can marry o algo, actual freedoms such as your freedom of association and speech are always ignored by it)
