A nationalist will always have to hide his beliefs to avoid ruining his life, while left wingers can openly call for political violence while keeping their jobs within academia and government.
There is honestly no reason to take pride in your ethnicity and your people, it gives you nothing because not even your fellow countrymen give a shit about it.
