Like I have heard/seen this exact statement both online and in real life that "LLMs are just fancy autocomplete machines" multiple times and it always annoys me because of the very fact that I heard it so many times that I know these people did not come up with it themselves. These n*ggers simply saw it in a Reddit comment section and thought it was smart so they ironically repeat it themselves without realizing how ridiculously reductive it is (it's like dismissing diesel engines as merely fancy steam engines which use fancy fuel). Perhaps the first people to think of it were knowledgeable enough to say this, because they were just leaving their thoughts unspoken. But I know the parrots' thoughts hardly scratch the surface.
