Just finished watching both 22 July and Patriots Day back to back and I gotta say, Patriots day fucking sucks
In 22 July, the view is much more concise and targeted. It spends a lot of time looking at Breivik specifically, and although it intentionally makes him look evil, it also makes him look pretty cool at times too, such as when he said "I need medical care, my finger got cut from a shard of skull when it shattered". The story had a slower pace, but it played more on emotion and psychology
Patriots day in comparison just feels more like mutt propaganda. Just a classing "we iz good you iz bad" slopaganda to rally the low iq mutts. It spends like zero time on the terrorists themselves and instead on the victims and the fucking cops. Literally just glazing them. There's no big elements of psychology, it tries to act more like a shitty action film which it shouldn't be. Like nigger, I don't care about the mutt biomass blown apart or the fucking cops trying to find them. I want to look at the Terrorist himself. Even in 22 July when they paid attention to the victims, it was just one family, but this one is like 5 fucking individual people for fuck sake. It's so SNCA.
It probably tracks that they gave more humanity to the white supremacist rather than the islamist, but this level of overt slopification and reduction of narrative to propaganda is disappointing. The Boston marathon bombers had their own ideology and personalities, but it was literally just essentialized for the purpose of simplifying it and propagandizing the event. No time was spent looking at them as people
