Can you even imagine how hard it is to plot a mouse click in 3D space? Basically you have to somehow deproject the pixel you're clicking but you don't know what z coordinate is it.

So you have to also de-apply the rotation matrix. What's the reverse of the dot product anyway?

you're so fucking raped

I'd say your best strategy is to wait for Fnaf World 2 and then ace it completely the fastest way you can, you'll farm a lot of views, I remember doing a small video when security breach came out about the daycare attendand saying SECURITY ALERT WOHOHO, and it was a niche secret and it gained a hundreds of thousand of views out of nowhere, just be fast and you'll rise in popularity, everyone clicks on the first thing they see on the internet

I only managed to achieve this in a fixed top down perspective, basically we know Z of the camera, we find hypotenuse to the edge of the map (using Z / cos(constant angle)) and then using the pythogoras theorem we find the distance to the edge of the map and then we just divide and shit.

I know. Direct3D is a graphics API along with OpenGL and nowadays, Vulkan. It's old, and most game engines nowadays use the latter two. But you can learn anything using the documentation.

Basically the only problem with it at least using legacy gm is that there are no local coordinates, meaning that you have to manually subtract object's coordinates so you get to the (0, 0, 0) of the world, then rotate it, then add up coordinates back, then draw the object, then you likely need to reset the identity.
