This is Abu Lu'Lu'a Firuz, also known as Firuz Nahavandi. He was a highly skilled Persian blacksmith who was taken prisoner to Medina as a slave during the Rashidun conquest of Iran
While in Medina, his slave owner imposed a tax on him of 2 dirhams per day, which he protested, and asked the 2nd Sunni caliph Omar to remove, which he refused. As a result, Firuz assassinated Omar, the 2nd caliph, with a double bladed dagger.
He was captured, and soon to be executed, but Imam Ali saved him and covertly transported him to Kashan, Iran, where he peacefully lived out the rest of his days
