You know, the first time I took shrooms, I felt this "oceanic" feeling as Freud describes in one of his books (I think it was Civilization and its discontent), however he links it to religion, but I felt it as some sort of a profound connection between me and other people in a spiritual way. When I got high I felt as if I was welcomed into new world, that always existed but I didn't know about, where everyone else lived. A world of love and innocence. Similar how in "The Dream of a Ridiculous Man" the character is transported to a copy of planet Earth before the fall of men, where people didn't know the concept of lies. I felt as if I finally learned how infinitely beautiful life is. But then I sobered up and I could no longer feel it. It could just be the intoxication, but I still think there is some basis to it.
