thats all there is to residental schools, the canadian government tried providing better education and useful skills towards indigenous pipo by placing them in boarding schools and once they all shut down, they immediately started throwing accusations of "genocide" and "cultural assimilation"
then the canadian government held a trial to start giving out money towards indigenous school survivors and blindfully accepted testimonies of these people without any sort of evidence and now we are all supposed to dickride indigenous people until the rest of the time because apparently learning about christ in school is le bad

I mean it's pretty obvious it was an attempt at cultural erasure that was kind of the reason the schools were made like the guys who made the schools literally admitted it was about trying to make natives act white. With the genocide I'm not so sure, I feel like most of it was bad sanitation and a bunch of cacas getting sick as a result since that's usually how native american populations got wiped out.
