You do have to understand the era when they published the communist manifesto, multiple important events happened in the 1840s beginning with the potato blight, Silesian weavers revolt in 1844 and the 1848 revolutions across Europe. It was more of an economic proposition to the downturns across the continent at the time. I think it wasn't a bad idea at the time for what they were going through though
